Nyczak has been an integral part of Smithsonian Institution National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. His painting of legendary jokey Bill Shoemaker, has been in the permanent collection and on display at this iconic institution since 1996.
In 2018 Nyczak had this painting chosen to be reproduced in form of 30 feet high banner which was placed on the facade of Smithsonian Institution National Portrait Gallery of American Art and Portraiture in Washington D.C. to promote the Museum.
